Spicy Pepitas

These Spicy Pepitas – roasted pumpkin seeds with a kick – are great to keep around and add to salads, especially in the fall.
They are simple, delicious and provide some good, healthy fat that our bodies need to prepare for the oncoming winter season…unless of course you are chasing the sun like we do!
Transition your Summer Salads into Fall Salads by changing a few key ingredients.

They are also delicious in Homemade Power Bombs


2 cups – pumpkin seeds, raw & shelled
1 teaspoon each – cayenne, cumin, chili powder, Ancho chili powder, salt
Juice from half a lime.
A sprinkle of sugar will help the powder ingredients stick to the seeds as it caramelizes.

To Do:

Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Bake seeds for 10 minutes shaking pan half way through.


If you happen to have Ghost Pepper Salt on hand – a specialty seasoning with a fiery flavor – use 1 teaspoon Ghost Pepper, cutting the regular salt and the Ancho chili powder.
This will give the Spicy Pepitas a unique, distinctive flavor!
