7 Chakra Soups

Try these 7 Chakra Soups to warm your belly and balance your Chakras. These delicious soups are perfect to make during the fall and winter but can be enjoyed anytime of the year! The ingredients in each soup focus on foods suited to open up the corresponding energy centers.

1st Chakra -Muladhara

Beet Root Vegetable Soup
  • 3-4 medium to large red beets
  • 1 Large carrot
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 3 cups Veggie Broth

Set the oven to 400 degrees. Wrap the beets in tin foil and back for 45 minutes until soft.

Chop onions and carrots and sautee for 10 minutes in a large pot. Add garlic and ginger and stir frequently for 1 minute. Add the coconut milk and veggie broth. Bring to a simmer.

When beets are ready, chop and add them to the soup. Place in a blender and pour back into the pot.

Top with feta crumbles if you desire!

2nd Chakra – Swadhisthana

Sweet and Sensual Potato Curry Soup:
  • 1 Large Sweet Potato
  • 1 Medium onion
  • 2 gloves of garlic
  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • 2 cups of bone or veggie broth
  • 1/8 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tbs of curry powder
  • 1 tsp of cumin

Set the oven to 400 degrees. Bake the sweet potato in tin foil for 45 minutes or until soft.

Chop the onions and sautee for 10 minutes in a large pot. Add the garlic and spices and cook for 2 minutes stiring often. Add the coconut milk and broth and simmer until potato is ready.

Once the sweet potato is cool, peel the skin and place in the pot. Stir it all up. Add the liquid to a blender and puree. Pour blended soup back to pot and spice to taste adding more salt or pepper or curry powder.

Option to garnish with goat cheese crumbles.

 

3rd Chakra – Manipura

Spicy Thai Kabocha Squash Soup:

  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 large Kabocha Squash (or sugar pumpkin even canned pumpkin will do)
  • 3 tablespoon s Thai Green curry paste (can substitute curry powder)
  • 2 cups of veggie broth or chicken
  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • top with pumpkin seeds (optional)

Set oven to 400 degrees. Cut up squash in quarters. Drizzle olive and season with salt and place flesh side down. Bake on a sheet for 4o minutes.

Meanwhile chop onions and saute on medium/ low for 10 minutes. Add garlic and ginger and stir for 1 minute. Pour in the veggie broth and coconut milk and add the thai curry paste. Let it simmer

Let Kabocha cool and peel off the skin. Add to the pot and stir. Puree in a blender and voila! Top with pumpkin seeds to finish it off!

4th Chakra – Anahata

Super Power Green Soup

  • 1 tablespoon Onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 2 heads of brocoli
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 2 cups of cashew milk
  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Saute onion, garlic and celery for 10 minutes, add brocoli and saute another 10 minutes. Add the cashew and coconut milk. Simmer and then add 2 handfuls of spinach. Cook until spinach is wilted. Then blend in a blender . Place back in the pot and season with Salt and pepper.

Sprinkle shredded chedder or vegan cheese if you please 🙂

5th Chakra – Vishuddha

Seaweed Thyroid Stimulator Soup:

 

All soups are great for the 5th chakra as the warm liquid soothes the throat. Seaweed is espeically helpful for Vishuddha Chakra because seaweed is packed with minerals that helps with Thyroid function.

  • 2 oz dried wakame  seaweed
  • 2 cups of miso broth or make your own with water and miso paste
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 chopped scallions
  • 1 tablespoon of Shoyu or Coconut aminos
  • Option to add tofu or mushrooms
  • Optional sesame seeds

Soften the dried seaweed in warm water. Cover until soft about 30 min- 45 min. Drain the seawed and put the water in a pot with miso mixutre, garlic and scallions and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and add shoyu sauce. 

Cook tofu or mushrooms seperately. Garnish with tofu or mushrooms and sprinkle with sesame seeds optional.

6th Chakra – Ajna

 3rd Eye Kale Detox Soup:

The pineal gland also known as your third eye is one of the glands connected to the 6th Chakra. This gland is responsible for our circadian rythms and melatonin production. Promote its function by feeding it with apple cider and chlorophyll filled kale

 

  • 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil
  • 4 large Onions
  • 1 bunch of kale (de-stemmed and chopped up)
  • 4 cups Veggie or Bone Broth
  • 3 tablspoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/8 teaspoon of iodised salt

Caramelize onions in a large pot on low heat for 15 minutes stirring often. Add garlic an cook for 2 minutes. Throw in chopped kale and cook for 5 minutes. Add broth and apple sider vinegar bring to a boil then simmer for 15 minutes. Season with iodised salt.

7th Chakra – Sahasrara

Feed Your Soul Lentil Soup:

The 7th Chakra is connected to the pituitary gland otherwise known as the master gland. It helps support the other glands in the endocrine system. Fuel its efforts by loading up on legumes, iodine and chlorophyll with this hearty lentil soup and bring harmony to your body, mind and soul!

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 red onion
  • 3 garlic gloves
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 cup red lentils rinsed and drained
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 4 cups of veggie broth
  • 1 bunch of Swiss chard de-stemmed and chopped
  • Iodized salt to taste
  • optional fresh lemon juice

Saute onion in coconut oil for 10 minutes. Add garlic and garam masala and stir for 1 minute. Add broth, tomatoes (with juice) and lentils. Season with salt and let simmer medium/low for at least 20 minutes. Add swiss chard until it gets soft.

Option to squeeze some fresh lemon juice to brighten it up.
