We are so excited Alycia will be leading a 7 day Chakra Immersion on our 100 hr. Yoga Teacher Training in Italy!
In 2007 Alycia tried rock climbing at Devils Lake, Wisconsin on a random weekend with her sisters. “None of us were really in shape, or had any clue as to what we were doing.” She headed to WI every weekend from Chicago to climb and even signed up for an 8 week climbing class at a local gym. She started to look for other ways to get fit to continue her climbing adventures. She found Bikram yoga and fell in love with the heat and the benefits it offered. She went to her first HPF class at Corepower Yoga in Chicago in January 2009 and signed up for the 200 hour teacher training in Hot Power Fusion after just two classes. “Teacher training became a way for me to connect my yoga practice with my climbing practice. Yoga changed my life by changing my perspective, and I wanted to share that with others”. Alycia has the ability to find tranquility in the chaos of a busy life. In 2012, Alycia completed both Yoga Sculpt Teacher Training and a second 200hr certification this time in Power Yoga. The same year, Alycia walked away from a 20+year career in finance to focus on teaching yoga full time. Her formal education includes interior design and photography. As a photographer she views life through the lens and takes it into her own experience. As a yoga instructor Alycia integrates yogic philosophy, mythology and Ayurveda into her classes. In 2014 Alycia received her first Reiki attunement and is currently a level 2 practitioner and is working toward her Master level. She is both ERYT200 certified and YASEP certified through the Yoga Alliance. In her nearly seven years at Corepower, Alycia was deeply involved in the programming community, having led over a dozen 200hour Yoga Teacher Trainings, mentoring programs, was a coach and lead for wellness programs like Bootcamp, Live Lean and the seasonal wellness cleanse. Alycia moved to Indiana in 2016 and is excited to share her passion for teaching and mentoring to the ever growing yoga community in Northwest Indiana. In January 2017 Alycia completed Barre Training and teaches Barre and Barre Fusion at a studio in Valparaiso, Indiana. When she isn’t teaching or leading workshops, you can find her hanging with her boyfriend and their three dogs, enjoying backyard bonfires, or in the kitchen cooking up new recipes!
