Frozen Coffee Drink Recipe
The heat is on! For many of us that means the temptation of a daily iced coffee from your favorite coffee shop. The problem is so many of these decadent treats are loaded with calories, sugar and who knows what other kinds of ingredients. Ever gotten a frozen coffee drink and it had a “slippery” or “waxy” mouth feel?
Some may contain propylene and while it may not be considered toxic for human consumption by the FDA, why add it to your diet?
Try keeping it simple and make your own frozen coffee drink at home. You’ll save calories and money too!
Here’s our favorite recipe for a Frozen Coffee Drink – that also makes a great snack:
- 8 ounces of fresh brewed coffee that has been iced down. You could also use 4oz. of coffee and 4 oz. of water.
If you didn’t feel like making coffee first you could always use instant. - 1 frozen banana.
- 1 scoop of protein powder or other supplement such as Vega One Vanilla Chai or Chocolate flavor makes it especially delicious!
You could use a plain flavor as well. - Throw in your favorite additions like chia, hemp or flax seeds, cinnamon, almonds or shredded coconut.
- Blend it all up and enjoy a delicious beverage without all the hidden, empty calories!
